On High Street, Erdington, opposite Church Road, the majestic frontage of former Burton tailoring store survives intact. 'Montague' Burton was born in Lithuania in 1885, and his stores were once the largest chain of tailoring stores in the world. He created a demob suit for WWII troops, known as 'The Full Monty', and the England World Cup winning team wore Burton suits.
