The chapel was built in 1837 as a chapel of ease for the Church of England (despite being in Wales). Unusually, it never had a burial ground. It is now deconsecrated, having closed in 1994, and is used for storage by its current owner. The fabric of the building is starting to deteriorate badly, with a number of the stones at the near end of the roof having come off in recent bad weather.
