To the east of this point, the brook disappears underground. The 1930s OS map http://wtp2.appspot.com/wheresthepath.htm?lat=51.398549572969166&lon=-0.042598520161661435&gz=14&oz=10>=5 shows that it crossed Croydon Road to the east of the current roundabout, turned south around Dunbar Avenue and then followed the line of Upper Elmers End Road. It eventually re-emerges near Altyre Way - see Image
