The road I am standing on is named Gun Road on the OS map, a continuation of Shiloh Road. There is a sign at the point where the roads change name, on which the road is entitled Gunn Road. Further along said Gun(n) Road, there is a Pistol Farm; its nearest neighbour is Gun Farm. Lawless country indeed. Both Pistol Farm and Gun Farm take their names from the fact that the Duke of Norfolk owned the land in the 19th century and had a Gun Lodge on the site.
