Bogh Mor - The Square

Bogh Mor ("big bend") was an entirely planned village and was founded in 1768 by the then laird of Islay, Daniel Campbell of Shawfield. At the top of the street is Kilarrow church (an anglicised version of the Gaelic name Cill A'Rubha), or "the Round Church" as it is more popularly known.
