The demolition of Opus Cars nears completion, with just a short piece of the workshop to go. Most of this was gone a few minutes later, as an attempt to remove a roof beam nudged the wall enough to send a giant crack running through the breeze blocks. The next move caused most of the wall to fall - which I'm sure was appreciated by anyone snoozing at 8 am in the Trinity Mews flats opposite. The building demolition has revealed the scene beyond, from left to right: the Tayfen estate, the Peach Maltings flats, Burlingham's Mill (behind a tree) and Burlingham's office building. How long before these last two are also demolished, having lain unused for a decade or more?
