The sign is a picture of the coat of arms of the Dukes of Marlborough. The motto means "Faithful but Unfortunate". Most people looking at the family's wealth, including the huge Blenheim Palace at Woodstock in Oxfordshire, might consider the family is actually very fortunate indeed. Image
