The Eight Bells is about 300 years old, but whether it has been a pub all through its life is not known. It was acquired by Arkells Brewery of Swindon in 1869, so is one of their earliest acquisitions. It is still an Arkells pub today. It has two pub signs, both on top of posts. One is by the front wall of the pub's car park (seen in this view). The other is nearby on a small green. Image Image Image
