The field in the foreground was formerly the playing field for St Nicholas School, which lies behind the photographer and caters for primary school children with special educational needs; it is still owned by the school but not used for sports any longer due to the safety issues involved in crossing the road to get to it. Beyond it, the new housing being built between the railway lines at Reedham station.
