It is located on Douglas Road, opposite Image] The origins of Mistyburn may be associated with Alexander Peden. When he was on the run and was in fear of being caught, he prayed that a cloak would be given to him to make him invisible to his pursuers. A thick mist came down along the burn and he was able to make his escape, thus giving the area was known as "Misty burn"
