Yetholm : Wauchope Memorial

In the centre of Town Yetholm village green is the memorial to Major-General Andrew Wauchope of Niddrie. It bears the inscription: "Erected by the inhabitants of Yetholm, and other friends, to the memory of Major-General Wauchope, CB, CMG, of Yetholm, who fell in battle while leading his troops at Macersfontein, 17th December 1899."
