Looking along Rindle Road, at Astley Moss, towards Station Cottages. The 1940s OS map (http://wtp2.appspot.com/wheresthepath.htm?lat=53.47067744420154&lon=-2.4483298735331593&gz=15&oz=9>=6) shows that there used to be a station here.
