Thorndon Hall was damaged by fire in the 1870's it lay unused until the Thorndon Golf Club leased it in the 1920's. Part of it was restored and used as their club house. The club built a new Clubhouse in 1974. The Hall was sold to a developer who converted it into what one assumes must be "luxury" flats.
