Head to the northern end of the southern section of Victoria Gardens. On the western side is this pub. The original King and Queen was a Georgian farmhouse that became a hotel in the late 18th century and was home to the town's corn market until 1868. The inn was drastically remodelled as a Tudor banqueting hall in 1931 and remains a popular place today particularly with the city's foreign students.
