Erected in 1860 by local benefactor Frances Sandars who "dedicated these houses to Almighty God forever. For the benefit of Aged Females." according to the inscription on the central gable. The houses stand a little apart from the village, but enjoyed a south-facing view across open land. Listed Grade II.
