Located on Green Street, opposite The Beeches. http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2311940 Inscribed in the green wooden arch is 19 REDWICK FESTIVAL OF BRITAIN 51 The Festival of Britain in 1951, shortly after the destruction and privations of the Second World War, sought to give Britons a feeling of recovery, progress and hope for the future. Although the Festival took pride in Britain's past, many of the exhibits looked to the future. Science and technology featured strongly.
