Bond Street Cottages

Head east down Church Street then head south down Bond Street. About half way down on the western side is this small alleyway of cottages. Bond Street itself was started in the 1750s, briefly became New Street from 1794-1805 before reverting to its original name. It is now the first of four principal shopping streets in the North Laine area, an alternative area to the chain stores of the town centre. The cottages are a reminder of the days when this part of Brighton was full of dark alleyways many with poor housing.
