It used to be the Alma Inn, but was renamed when the Empress Eugenie (widow of Napoleon III of France) bought Farnborough Hill House around 1880. It used to be a Courage house. Image Image Update July 2021:- It finally closed as a pub in 2013 and is now a private house. As at the time of writing this sign is still outside, but shows a different design.
