Created in 2000 to help protect the Great Crested Newt, which was threatened as a result of the development of the St Asaph Business Park. The Deeside Urban Wildlife Group manages the site and has increased access to the site and built a hide to encourage visitors to the site. A view north from the access from the Business Park.
