This postbox design is known as a Ludlow box, named after its designer and intended specifically for sub post offices. This one is a Victorian specimen and is emptied finally at 5:30pm on weekdays and at 12:15pm on Saturdays. The net curtain looks as if it has been custom made to take account of the presence of the box. See Image for a wider view of the premises.
