Looking towards Church Road, Croydon, with Croydon Parish Church behind the photographer. To the left of picture is the end of a terrace of flint-faced cottages. In the centre of picture, the building, complete with scaffolding, dates from a later period. On the right of picture, and dating from the late 20th century, the building forms part of the enlarged Old Palace School. The original Archbishop's Palace, the Great Hall of which was re-built during the period 1443-52, is also utilised by Old Palace School.
