The walk is an excellent one between Scarborough and Robin Hood's Bay, except for the section above Beast Cliff, where the flies in August are AWFUL! The Cleveland Way is a 110 miles (176 kilometre) walking route from Helmsley to Filey. It passes through the North York Moors National Park, crossing heather moorland and providing spectacular views of the North Yorkshire coastline. It was opened in 1969. http://www.walkingenglishman.com/ldp/clevelandway.htm Here (I think) is the descent to Stoupe Beck, from where the path continues to Boggle Hole and Robin Hood's Bay. The image has been scanned from a Kodachrome transparency dated August 1972.
