The Afon Ganol drains this low-lying fringe to the old coastal marsh, now much changed by road-building and development of part of the site of the cold-storage depot. The channel has been dredged to remove the accumulation of reeds, but also moved somewhat as a linear industrial estate has been built on space once occupied by sidings serving the depot.
