After a wet day, the surprisingly superb sunset behind us is reflected in the glasswork of Boscombe pier as we look down on it from about a mile away. In the distance, the waters of The Solent can be seen between the headland of Hengistbury Head (in front) and the Isle of Wight (horizon).
