Situated on an elevation and looking down upon the modern complex of Benjamin Court Hospital below is the Fletcher building, a Victorian convalescent home. It still looks grand from a distance. A closer look reveals that most of the windows are boarded up and that the building is deteriorating. Update 23 March 2012: Demolition work has started to make way for a car park, which will serve the new multi-million pound hospital that has been built behind it.
