Terraced housing in Watling Street, which before Dartford was bypassed by what is now the A296/A225/A2174 Princes Road was the main A2 London to Dover Road, the role going back to Roman times, as the name indicates. However, even Princes Road has now been bypassed, by the current A2, built to the south in around 1970. The housing is presumably late Victorian, the postbox in front of the first house being Victorian (see Image for close up).
