This is the old Thetford to Lynn line via Swaffham. It met up with the Dereham line at Swaffham (the station, or at least the goods shed still survives). Running south through Watton before hitting Roudham junction to the east of Thetford on the Breckland line. Watton to Thetford opened on the 18th October 1869 by the Thetford and Watton Railway Company. In 1875 an extension of the line to Swaffham was opened to goods, then passengers. Later the line passed onto the Great Eastern railway then the LNER and BR. It, along with the Kings Lynn to Dereham line closed under The Beeching Act in 1964. Information courtesy of Ashley Dace.
