Viewed from a canal motor cruiser heading gingerly upstream. The interesting thing about this view is the small island beyond the trees near the left bank. It is not there in recent aerial views, in fact a small craft is about to pass over its location. On the 1967 1:2500 map it looks a little smaller than seen in this 1965 view, but on the 1915 1:2500 map it is a substantial strip of land about 75 m long. Such are rivers!
