The harsh winter of 2009-10 was followed by a shorter but colder episode in December 2010. The prolonged frost in the latter period has caused a lot of damage to masonry and roads. This is a particularly nasty bit of frost damaged road, taken on a day more typical of the 2010-11 winter: dreich, and just above freezing - the glorious sunny days of the colder spell now just a memory.
