Looking east along the route of the Edinburgh Suburban Railway from the footbridge between Balcarres Street and Maxwell Street Image Blackford Hill in the distance, and the grey building across the lines, which would have been the station ticket office, now houses two shops - newsagent and barber [the latter, in 2014 replaced by a chartered accountant].
