Due to the tree's ability to live for very long time periods it has been symbolic of long life; it is often found in church yards (where several 1000 year plus examples can often be found). This small sapling is in Brocks Hill Country Park, Oadby, Leicester. The tree guard is made on Loddon Industrial estate, Norfolk.
