During unloading at Newport Docks, brand new locomotive number 70012 was accidentally dropped from the crane and sustained major damage. Here the locomotive sits at Newport docks, awaiting a return sailing to the US for assessment, and component recovery / scrapping or repair. The locomotive, dark green with yellow ends, can just be made out at the far end of the dock at the left-hand end of the cream building (more-or-less the centre of the photo). A slight upward curve in roof of the locomotive's RH end, damage from its being dropped, can be made out.
