One thing Bridgnorth isn't short of, is public houses, and in Victorian times there were far more. This one is a Grade II listed building. It is believed to date from the late 16th century, and is timber frame with painted brick. The weatherhood over the doorway is 19th century. This building appears to have been fortunate to have survived the Civil War fire of 1646, when most of the medieval and tudor buildings in the High Town were burnt down. Image Image
