Pevsner's list of the Victorian churches of Bradford gives the date as 1848 and the architect as Walker Rawsthorne. The design is enlivened by the little corner turrets. The 1896 revision of the OS 1" map shows it as having a spire, which has now been replaced by the open-work top to the tower.
