Looking across Toll Gavel towards the Thomas Cook shop and the entrance to Landress Lane. Prior to the O.S. map of 1927 this lane was recorded as Laundress Lane, but research on the internet suggests that the name is associated with a Roger Laundese who once had land nearby.
