Known locally as 'broccoli', cauliflowers are an important winter crop in west Cornwall. The worst job is the cutting, involving much bending, out in the open in cold weather. The cut broccoli are placed in the yellow cups which can be seen on the conveyor belt in front of the tractor and these are transported into the tented trailer where packers have a slightly more comfortable job, placing them in crates.
