Looking south from a spot just off Braunstone Gate. The Bowstring Bridge, demolished in 2009, would once have extended into the top right-hand corner of the frame. The old viaduct, which once carried the Great Central's London-Sheffield main-line, was built of rather beautiful purplish bricks - it would be a great shame if they don't get re-used. This shot - I have to admit - gives an unfairly tatty impression of an area which has seen much recent regeneration.
