  The photograph shows part of St. John's Street. From the right the businesses are: Gilberts newsagent and grocers, The Kings Arms Hotel, Beaches bookshop, The White Hart Hotel. On the far left of the photograph is the junction of St. John's Road with Catherine Street (continuation of St. John's Road) and Ivy Street (off to the right). On the corner of Catherine Street and Ivy St is a public house (white walls and tiled roof).
