If I have located them correctly, they would have been part of an avenue extending east from the hall (built c.1820). Their apparent size and the twist in their trunks suggests sweet chestnut (Castanea sativa) but they might be beech (Fagus sylvatica). Home Farm, right, is some distance away Image
