On the wall of the Coach & Horses pub - for context see David Stowell's photo Image] I think these signs were erected from approximately the 1930's to the 1950's and highlight the establishments which were recommended to CTC members in their handbook. The same practice exists today except the businesses now have small stickers in their windows.
