These two panels, depicting "Man's Struggle", by Walter Ritchie were originally installed in 1959 at either end of a water feature beneath the connecting bridge between M&S and BHS in the Upper Precinct. They were removed to the current location of the outer wall of the Herbert art gallery when the Upper Precinct was remodelled.
