On the west side of the lane there are three such groups of cottages arranged around a garden courtyard. The fragment of oakwood at the back appears to be a communal open space. The sign on the gate pillar reads "Bentley Heath Cottages 21-30 & The Flat". A brief search suggests that this development was by a charitable trust http://www.charitiesdirect.com/charities/w-e-dunn-charitable-trust-219418.html
