After the River Tame has been joined the River Anker below Tamworth Castle it flows under Lady Bridge. Almost immediately the Tame splits with the lefthand (southern) arm tumbling over a weir to form the Flood Relief Channel (see Image] by Humphrey Bolton), while the rest of the water continues to the north along its old course. After about a mile these two arms rejoin having formed an island known as Broad Meadow. The rapid water seen in this photo is at the point where the northerly (original) arm of the river cascades over a weir (see Image]) to rejoin the Flood Relief Arm. On the opposite bank to this confluence can be seen a WWII Pill Box, which can be seen in greater detail here Image] In the distance can be seen the tall television mast at Hints.
