Although the railway line crossing Hall Lane was closed in 1985, the rails are still in place, as is one of the barriers. This was the former GNR Bowling Junction to Laisterdyke line. The manual gates were replaced by electric barriers in 1968. Passenger services ceased in 1969, with the line being singled in 1979.
