A Warrington Arply to Newport ADJ freight service near the summit at Llanvihangel Crucorney; once over the top it's downhill to Abergavenny. This is the railway from Shrewsbury to Newport via Hereford known as the Marches line. The front wagons carry scrap, no doubt destined for the then ASW plant at Cardiff docks. There were lots of freight trains over this route in those days.
