Starks Brae Known locally as the Links runs from Grangepans up to Grange terrace. The wall is the back wall to Ballantines foundry. Special sand was tipped on the road and then shovelled through the square openings (now bricked up). The sand was used to form moulds which the hot metal was poured into to make cast iron gutters, manholes etc.
