Maryside Place consists of two terraces, each of 12 houses, without the long gardens of the North View and South View terraces to their west. They are built with the pale local bricks made at the colliery and are the most modest of the houses in the village being only one room deep. The narrow lane shown provides pedestrian access to the houses. They are named after Maryside Hill, now part of the golf course to the south-east. A third terrace in the same style, facing the river, is called Tyne View. Tyne and Wear HER (12047): Clara Vale, Tyne View and Maryside Place http://www.twsitelines.info
