The Memorial Garden was created on the site of a church, now demolished. It is shown as the Church of England, Church of the Good Shepherd in maps dated in the early 1960s Image It replaced the Mission Rooms in a similar location. The terrace of 6 houses behind the garden is Stanners View, one of the few modern developments in the village, which replaced the former Institute building around 1990 in a similar style. The front of the terrace is shown here Image
