This extraordinary sight currently greets anyone venturing along the northern stretch of Baker Street beyond Marylebone Road. This was part of Abbey National's old headquarters building which is being redeveloped into luxury flats. Westminster Council, however, insisted that the clock tower feature is retained, so the builders have just removed the building from underneath - one just hopes they know what they are doing! The clock is stopped at 12 o'clock.
