The front of the house dates from the 18th century though it may be much older. Named after the family who kept a village shop here from 1754 to the 1930s, the former shop window which was added in the 19th century is obscured by the bungalow on the left. Viewed from the drive to Chailey Place with the A275 running between the two sets of houses.
